DATE: August 31, 2006
SUBJECTS: (1) United Campmeeting, (2) Week of Youth Evangelism, (3) Youth Sabbath and Youth Baptism, (4) College, University Students, and Young Adults Special Service
1. United Campmeeting (Sabbath, September 16 @ CampBerkshire): The pre-program will begin at 9:45 AM and SabbathSchool at 10:00 AM. The entire program will be held under the big tent and we expect around 3,000 youth and young adults there. We will have a Parade of Nations, and an excellent praise and worship service.
In the afternoon we are planning a baptism, where we expect to have a great group of young people get baptized. The baptism will take place in the pool. After the baptism we will have our traditional Cookies and Ice Cream under the big tent. The flyer is included here in the package.
2. Week of Youth and Young Adult Evangelism (September 23-30, 2006 @ each local church): The official time for the week of Youth and Young Adult Evangelism in our Conference Calendar is coming up. I have visited several churches, where youth evangelism has already been held; I visited youth evangelistic series under tents, this year. Some churches have already done it, some others are planning to do it during the assigned week, and other are planning towards the end of the year. The date is not important, it is important that we have a time, during the year where young people can preach and do public evangelism.
3. Youth Sabbath and Youth Baptism (September 30 @ each local church): The last Sabbath of September has been designated in our Conference Calendar as an official Youth Sabbath and Youth Baptism Day. Don’t forget to promote this special day and to encourage young people to make decisions for Jesus on this day.
4. College, University Students, and Young Adults Special Service (September 30 @ Church of the Advent Hope): This is a new initiative to minister to our College and University Students in our entire conference. The service will take place in the early evening, 6:00 PM; it will be a special service for College, University Students, and Young Adults (18-35). The purpose is to bring all of the Adventist students, and their non-Adventist friends together for worship. After the sundown we will have an outing in the city to enjoy each others company. More information will be upcoming.
