Pastor Jose H. Cortes Jr. was reelected on Sunday, November 19 as the Adventist Youth Ministries Director, during the continuation of the 53rd. Greater New York Conference Constituency Session, . Pastor Jose has served the Greater New York Conference Adventist Youth Ministries since January 2003. He was relected once before in June of the same year at the 52nd Session.
Most of the other Department Directors of the Conference were also reelected with the exception of two Departments: Pastor Ruben Merino was elected as the new Community Services Director and Pastor Jose Dominguez was chosen to head the Publishing Department. A new initiative of the 53rd Session included the addition of Pastor Steve Cassimy, as the Conference's Ministerial Director.
