Update on Carlos Mieses II
1/13/10
Dear Youth & Young Adults in Greater New York Conference:
Just spoke to Alberto Mieses (Carlos’ Father) and to his brother in law Rudith Rosario. Carlos is presently in a light coma. Doctors believe that his recovery will take a few weeks. The family is requesting your constant prayers on behalf of Carlos.
Personally, I would like to thank each youth, young adult, and adult in Greater New York for your prayers, unity, and love which has been clearly revealed during these difficult days. I love you and I am proud of you. God is awesome and powerful and He can do all things. Let’s keep praying that He will work on Carlos behalf and heal him.
A few moments ago, I finished meeting with our Administrators, Community Service Director, and Franco-Haitian Coordinator. The meeting was called to work on our response as a Conference to the fatal earthquake in Haiti. A statement of concern and action will be posted in the Conference website (www.gnyc.org). As soon as it is posted, we will create a link to it, in the Adventist Youth Ministries Department Website. In the meantime, let’s keep praying for our people of Haiti, the ones there and the ones here suffering for their families. We need all the prayers and all the love at this time.
I would like to leave this promise with you:
“God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He recognizes and welcomes anyone looking for help, No matter how desperate the trouble (Nahum 1:7/TM).
