Greater New York Mission Trips in 2009

In addition to the many community, mission, & evangelistic local projects that our Youth & Young Adults lead each year in the territory of Greater New York, the Adventist Youth Ministries Department of the Greater New York Conference also plans several International Mission Trips for Young Adults (Teens & Adults are also invited). During 2009 we will be going to Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Mexico. A small group of leaders will also be traveling to Haiti in the upcoming weeks to scout a place for a Mission Trip there as well.
A Mission Trip can change the lives of Young Adults, Teens, and Adults in your church. Mission Trips allow individuals to experience our global church, inspire them to be missionaries locally & abroad, create a team work atmosphere for young adults & youth from Greater New York and other places in the United States. Mission Trips are an excellent educational and cultural instrument, by traveling you can learn more about other people and other languages. Above all things, Mission Trips are very influential in getting its participant close to Jesus. Every trip is a relevant spiritual experience; commitments for service at the local church, leadership development, calls to ministry, formation of Christian friendships, and decisions for baptisms are experienced in each trip, every year.
If you have Teens or Young Adults who are interested in going, you must contact us and make arrangements. The AY Leaders of each church have received flyers and registration brochures to sign up for this trip.

Jamaica Mission Trip (Spanish Town, Jamaica/April 5-11, 2009): This trip is for Young Adults, College University Students, and of course we will not turn down a teen or an adult wanting to go. The Mission is open for Missionaries wanting to make a difference for the Lord outside of our US boundaries. The project includes ministering to the residents of the Spanish Town Infirmary, as well as the beautification of the place (painting, cleaning, and some construction) in combination with the Youth Department of the Central Jamaica Conference.
The cost of the Trip is $1285.00 and includes: Airfare, Food, Lodging, local transportation, T-shirt, bottled water, and a donation towards the mission projects we will work on while there. Sightseeing trips, tours, and souvenirs, will be optional and will have an extra cost.
If there is someone who wishes to contribute to this trip with funds, Tax Deductible Donations are welcomed and needed. They will go directly and exactly to our mission projects. If you find people who are able to donate $1,000.00, $500.00, etc. The funds will be used to alleviate the needs of a deprived community in Jamaica.

Dominican Republic Mission Trip (Monte Plata, Dominican Republic/July 23-31, 2009): Another International Mission Project for 2009 will be Monte Plata, Dominican Republic. The Project includes building homes in the community, feeding the community, beautification of the community, vacation Bible school, and potential public evangelism.
This trip is for Young Adults, College University Students, and of course we will not turn down a teen or an adult wanting to go. The Mission is open for Missionaries wanting to make a difference for the Lord outside of our US boundaries.

Mexico Mission Trip (Cancun & Pueblo Juarez Mayan Indian Village/August 18-27, 2009): About 80 young adults, teens, and adults go in this Mission Trip every year for the last 7 years. The cost for students is $920.00 and for adults/professionals is $970.00.
The objectives are: church construction in Region 104, Cancun, a very poor area of the city; Vacation Bible School at Region 104, Cancun; as well as a Vacation Bible School in an area where the Adventist Church has not yet entered, a village of Mayan Indians. Our purpose is to plant a Seventh-day Adventist Church in the village.
It covers airfare, ground transportation, hotel, meals, t-shirt, and mission fee to buy materials for church building project. Everything is included, with the exception of sightseeing and souvenirs.

Mission Trips Deposits & Payment Plans
If you are interested in going in any of these trips, please send in your Registration with a Deposit. If you cannot send your Deposit right away, send in your Registration and make arrangements with my Secretary Veronica, in regards to your deposit and payments.
