Greetings!
I would like to thank each one of you for the prayers and love you have shown for Carlos Mieses and his family. Carlos is doing better. He still needs our prayers as he continues to recovers. Please, keep him in your Prayer List as well as his family.
The situation in Haiti is still very difficult and it will continue to be difficult for a while. Kelvin Rivas (AY Coordinator/AYES Corps) has been there for the last two weeks, together with Samuel Maxine, and Pastor Reginald Barthelemy. They have done an excellent job working with ADRA, the UN Massive Distribution Program, and the Mayor of Port-Au-Prince. They are coming back shortly, as they finalize with their responsibilities there. A new team formed by Teddy Williamson, Angel Reyes, and Melbourne Francis will be leaving to Haiti on Sunday Morning. Let's pray for the returning team and the departing team, for a smooth transition, and especially for the people suffering on the ground in Haiti.
On Tuesday, I received a call from Port-Au-Prince, during the call Pastor Merino and a one of the Departmental Directors from the Haitian Union mentioned the URGENT and DESPERATE need for tents. We are working with the Camp and have already gotten the OK from our Administration to send the big Youth Tent and some other tents to Haiti; these can be used as church buildings. However, the biggest need now is for tents (4-6 people tents) to be used as houses for the families sleeping on the streets of Port-Au-Prince.
I would like to ask each Adventurer Club and Pathfinder Club in Greater New York to contribute 1 tent each. The tents need to be in good shape and complete (all poles, stakes, and items), and packaged in its bag, just as if you were going to Camporee. Just put the name of your Adventurer or Pathfinder Club on the outside of the tent bag and the capacity of the tent. We will begin to collect these tents on Sunday, during our Recognition & Mission Project Day at the French Gethsemane Church in Brooklyn.
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' (Matthew 25:40)
Lots of Love & Blessings!!!

Tents URGENTLY Needed in Haiti
|
Tents URGENTLY Needed in Haiti: For the last weeks, since the Port-Au-Prince Earthquake, many families, the majority of the inhabitants of Port-Au-Prince have been sleeping on the streets without a roof, walls, or floors, no privacy whatsoever, totally exposed to sun and rain. There is an urgent and desperate need for tents now.
If your church does not have an Adventurer or Pathfinder Club, you can still donate one or two tents. These will be a blessing to families which are in total need of shelter in Port-Au-Prince right now. If you need a letter to request tent donations from Wal-Mart, Target, Camp or Sporting Good Stores, please e-mail us, and we'll provide you with the letter.
